Considering A Home Business, Part I--Is Your Job An Asset Or A Liability?
As nearly everyone knows--often from personal experience--there is very little security in having a job these days--no matter how "good" it may be. Most jobs are at high risk of being eliminated in an eyeblink through corporate mergers, downsizing, and being out-sourced, to name a few of the major causes. As a result, instead of having a single career spanning 30 to 50 years, as was the norm a half century ago, most working people now are likely to have multiple careers during their working lives.
Another inherent downside of all jobs, however, is less commonly recognized due a deeply-ingrained prevailing belief that having a good job is sufficient for financial well-being. In today's world, this belief is as illusory as the Emperor's New Clothes.
As Robert Kiyosaki has pointed out so trenchantly in his best-selling book, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad," the inherent financial limitation of all jobs, including all forms of self-employment, is that they entail trading time for income. The income that they can generate, therefore, is intrinsically limited by the number of hours that one can work. For this basic reason, it's highly unlikely for anyone to achieve true financial independence through even the very best of jobs.
Actually, however, there is massive evidence that for the vast majority of working people, their job is aptly described by the increasingly prevalent acronym, J.O.B ("Just Over Broke"). Not only are most jobs not a route to financial independence, but even worse, they're a source of great stress and dissatisfaction. With married couples, this is often compounded by two jobs, instead of one.
Here are six of the main sources of this job distress:
1. Not being able to spend enough quality time with children. Parents working a full-time job pay a high price in terms of missing out on being with their children, especially during their early formative years. Correspondingly, their children often pay an even higher price by not receiving the degree and quality of nurturance they need. This is especially true when both parents are working.
2. The rising costs of commuting to and from work, along with the massive stress this commonly entails.
3. The high cost of daycare for pre-school children. When this cost is subtracted from the income earned by working, the net gain is often miniscule. If the long-term emotional costs entailed for both parents and children are taken into account, even this apparent short-term gain may actually prove to be a liability.
4. Not having adequate time or energy to prepare healthy meals. This often results in eating fast food that is nutritionally inadequate. This, in turn, commonly contributes to obesity and sub-optimal health.
5. Lack of control over working hours. Constantly being controlled by an inflexible work schedule is often a major source of chronic stress and dissatisfaction. Since chronic stress contributes markedly to all forms of illness, the cost of which is rising at an ever-accelerating rate, this is another massive long-term cost factor of a J.O.B.
6. Conflict with work supervisors and co-workers. Although this is not universal, research indicates that it's one of the most common sources of job dissatisfaction. To the degree that it's a problem, it's obviously another source of chronic stress with all of the immediate and long-term costs that this entails.
So is there a better alternative to a J.O.B.? There is, indeed, and it's one that increasing numbers of people are discovering and opting into. Generally speaking, this alternative consists in a carefully-chosen home business. The words, "carefully chosen" here are very important, however, because there are a huge number of potential options available that vary in quality from superb, through mediocre, to outright scams.
Therefore, in making the transition from a J.O.B. to a highly satisfying and financially rewarding home business, it's crucially important to proceed with great caution and on the basis of some important guidelines and caveats. These will addressed in a second companion article.
Also, you'll find some very important information by listening to the audio above and by reading other articles on this blog.

Network Marketing--It's Three Deadly Sins And How To Find Salvation From Them Through A Funded Sponsoring Franchise System
Summary
An unfortunate fact about network marketing is that approximately 95% of people who get involved never achieve significant success. This article summarizes the three main reasons for this and also introduces a new network marketing paradigm that can lead to a much higher degree of success and satisfaction.
----------------------------------------------------------
If you're a network marketer, there's a 95% probability that you've not yet achieved success in this industry. If, on the other hand, you're currently seeking a network marketing business opportunity, this is statistical fact that is important for you to recognize. Even worse is the dismal fact that this is the approximate percentage of network marketers who will NEVER achieve success in this industry--UNLESS they become aware of what I will refer to here as its three "deadly sins" and find an effective way to avoid them.
The purpose of this article is to help you to become aware of these pervasive pitfalls, how they lead most networkers inevitably to what I refer to, sardonically, as Network Marketing "hell," and--most important of all--to present an alternative approach that can quickly lead to salvation in what I think quite fittingly can be called a "Network Marketing Paradise."
Unfortunately, nearly all network marketers are actively seduced into committing these "deadly sins" for the simple reason that--until very recently--they have provided the ONLY means for achieving success in the network marketing industry. All of them are based on the nearly universal and common-sensical premise in this industry that the ONLY way to succeed is to invest one's personal and financial resources directly, immediately, and one-pointedly into promoting and building one's primary business. As self-validating as this seems, the evidence is now overwhelming that this approach simply doesn't work well for the vast majority of people who enter this industry.
The good news is that there is now a highly effective alternative way to "salvation" for at least a large percentage of those who have fallen into the morass of failure and disillusionment to which this prevailing approach often and unfortunately leads.
The Three Deadly Sins of Network Marketing:
The term, "sin," as used here has no moral implications of any kind; rather, it is used in its original sense as translated from the Greek word, hamartia, meaning "to miss the mark" or "to miss the target." Given this amoral definition, here's a list of the three "deadly sins" of traditional network marketing:
1. Spending vast amounts of money, time, and energy in promoting one's business and/or products to prospects who are highly unqualfied. Typically, this starts with one's "warm market"--i.e., one's immediate circle of family and friends. Not uncommonly, in enthusiastically and aggressively trying to recruit these folks, neophyte network marketers often meet with much negativity and create considerable alienation. Not surprisingly, this is a common early source of major disappointment and disillusionment.
2. Spending even greater amounts of money, time, and energy in promoting one's business to the "cold market," either on a face-to-face basis or through calling leads. In working with this market, as is commonly stated in the industry, "it's in the numbers." This means that for every qualified prospect successfully recruited, it's usually necessary to give presentations to large numbers of people who prove NOT to be qualified. So the return on investment here can be--and often is--horrifically low. Also, it requires a tremendous degree of commitment, persistence, and willingness to endure the frustration inherent in this process. Not surprisingly, then, the large majority of people new to the business will run out of money and/or personal endurance before they achieve a signficant degree of success.
3. Failure among those recruited to one's business team to duplicate successfully the method(s) used to recruit them. Since duplication is the sine qua non of ALL network marketing, this is a huge, and often, fatal problem. Although most network marketing companies tout a simple and easy-to-duplicate business plan, only a very small minority of new recruits are actually successful in implementing this duplication. The main reasons for this are as listed above.
A Pathway to Salvation--The Funded Proposal Franchising System:
Fortunately, thanks to the rapid evolution of highly sophisticated and effective new forms of internet marketing, an effective means to "salvation" from all of these common failings is now readily available to anyone with internet access and the willingness to learn how to use them. Basically, internet technology has opened the way for a brand new paradigm of network marketing to emerge that not only avoids all of the problems of the traditional approach, but has a number of additional advantages to boot.
One highly effective variant of this new paradigm is called a Funded Proposal Franchising System. One of its unique features is that it utilizes a system of carefully chosen affiliate programs synergistically designed to generate income very quickly. This income is then dedicated, in part, to promoting one's primary network marketing business entirely through internet advertising.
Since this business building system is completely internet-based, it completely eliminates all forms of personal promotion and recruitment. This, in turn, eliminates all of the wasted time and effort that is entailed in the traditional model in trying to recruit large numbers of highly unqualified prospects. In this new paradigm, the business builder works ONLY with people who have established a high degree of qualification and motivation by actually enrolling in his/her business-building system.
One of the main effects of this marked difference is that the business builder's main role is transformed from being that of a personal promoter/recruiter/salesperson into a role that is much more satisfying for most people--namely that of being a supportive mentor/guide who also provides customer service.
An added major advantage of this new approach is that it not only has great appeal to prospective business opportunity seekers--once they understand it--but also to the vast numbers of traditional network marketers who have been floundering in "network marketing hell," as it has been described here.
As someone who has spent a lot of time in this hellish predicament, I can testify that discovering and applying this new paradigm has been, for me, truly like finding the gateway to a paradise.
So whether you are somebody seeking salvation from the "deadly sins" of network marketing, or a business opportunity seeker simply wanting to avoid the high probability of failure that they entail, I highly recommend that you investigate carefully this very attractive new alternative.

Consider This: 4 Great Reasons To Build Residual Income With A Home Business
By Mick Lolekonda
Edmonton, September 4, 2006.
Yes, there are many ways one can earn a living. You can have job, decide to be self-employed, or be a business owner. Usually when being an employee or self-employed, if you don’t go to work, you don’t get paid. Only when you’re a business owner can you afford not going to work and still have money coming in. However, not all of us have the ability to start businesses from scratch. So what is the next best thing for the “average” person to build residual income and substantial income? Starting your home business income opportunity.
Those opportunities don’t require you to have experience in the industry to succeed. All you need is your ability to follow and plug into a system, persistence, and consistency in your daily method of operation.
So why having this kind of home business is a great way to build residual income? For starters, you don’t need a huge investment to get started. Investment ranges from less than $100 to a couple of thousand dollars making it affordable for a wide range of pocket book sizes. Once you join, contrary to a traditional business, when you play your cards right you can be in profit within a couple of month as opposed to a couple of years. Provided you find the right program that is.
Then, you can also take advantage of leveraging both your time and efforts. You’ll find that as more people join you in business and your list of customers expands, you’ll work less and less… but earn more and more. It is said that you typically need 2 personal sign-ups after qualifying for a money-making position to start increasing your income.
The third great reason why you can efficiently build residual income in the home-business industry is that you can have a business portfolio. That simply means you can have an integrated system of home-businesses working for you. Just as it happens with mutual funds, you can capitalize on the power of diversification. In our case, with having multiple home-businesses or income streams, we’re relying on the power of diversification. The reason being that you never know which business will perform the best. And in case one business either disappears, or under performs, you always have the others to minimize its financial negative impact. This is a strategy commonly used to protect oneself from financial disaster but primarily because you never know which one could catapult you to massive wealth.
The fourth benefit of having a home business is that you have a worldwide market with an endless supply of customers and potential business partners. As an indication, 150,000 people start a home-business everyday in the U.S.A alone. So the question is how big a piece of the pie do you want? You’ll just need to have the right approach to attract them.
Especially if you are considering entering the home business industry, the only challenge you face is finding other people just like yourself that want to start and build a successful business. But rest assured, when you align yourself with the right successful mentors and programs, you can and will overcome that hurdle.

Before the Internet came along, if you wanted to set up your own business it took a lot of money and an unbelievable amount of hard work. You would have to give up nearly everything and live hand-to-mouth for months and work every single waking hour. You would never get a day off and eventually if luck was on your side, you would end up with a thriving business which generated a nice healthy income for you and your family. You would still have to work most days (if not all) and when your normal working day was complete, there would always be paperwork to do in the evening.
If you were fortunate enough to be able to go on holiday you would still have to 'check in with the office' - however good your staff were, you couldn't possibly leave them on their own for more than a day or two without making sure everything was ok. Of course, you could close the business down while you were away but this would mean that you would be losing money everyday that you were lying by the pool (which might take the edge off the enjoyment slightly).
(I could go on but I won't because the struggles involved in building an offline business aren't the point of this article.....)
So then the Internet arrived. Suddenly you could set up your own business for next to nothing. All you needed to do was throw up a few web pages and a six figure income would flow from your computer directly to your bank account. It was quick, easy and anyone could do it with little training and little effort. Right?
Er, no actually - in fact, absolutely and completely WRONG!
I have said it countless times before, if you want to build a successful online business, it takes time and a lot of effort. You can do it on a budget but you still need to work very hard and really put the hours in. I won't bore you with the details of how many hours a week I have worked in the past but believe me, it is more than I knew existed when I had a job!
Unfortunately these facts seem to have been missed by a large percentage of the online population. Over the past few months I have received more and more emails from people who clearly don't want to do any work whatsoever but seem to expect money to just pump out of their computer as soon as they turn it on each morning. Not only that but they have this expectation that I and others owe it to them to help/guide/support them for free!
I received an email from someone this week complaining that after buying one of my wholesale guides, he had been unable to find what he was looking for at a decent wholesale price. The product he was trying to buy was incredibly competitive and has a very small profit margin anyway so the chances are that he was simply expecting to be able to buy it for an unrealistic price. Either that or he had only looked at wholesalers on the Internet because he couldn't be bothered to move from his chair and actually visit the huge number of excellent suppliers who don't advertise online (I am beginning to suspect that this is primarily because they don't want to deal with characters like this!). Anyway, you know the funny part of this story? The guy bought my wholesale guide in 2004 - it had taken him two and a half years to write to me to complain! Does this sound like the kind of 'go-getter' who is going to put the required effort in and succeed in any kind of business?
No one is going to do the work for you and you really only have yourself to blame if your business is not working out the way you want it to. If something is wrong, change it. If something isn't working, try doing it a different way. If you don't enjoy what you are doing, find something else that you do enjoy.
Internet marketing isn't for everyone and it isn't a quick and easy route to easy money. I haven't had a proper day off work for over five years (even when I am on holiday I usually spend an hour or so a day dealing with emails). Yes the money is good but if it is only the money that attracts you, believe me, you will soon get bored.
Internet marketing is a lifestyle - it can be a very good lifestyle but like any business, you need to be passionate about what you do if you really want to make a success of it.
If you don't fall into this category then you could well find that your Internet business dream becomes just another JOB.....

The Funded Sponsoring Franchise System--A Revolutionary New Approach to Network Marketing
A revolutionary new approach is now available in network marketing. It provides a way to build ANY network marketing business entirely online and can be duplicated 100% by anyone who uses it. Not only does it eliminate all of the major causes for failure in traditional network marketing, but it has additional advantages besides.
First of all, it turns traditional network marketing upside down by eliminating ALL personal promotion, recruiting and selling. This saves a huge amount of wasted time and money that network marketers typically spend in working with vast numbers of highly unqualified prospects.
Network marketers using this system have personal contact with prospects only AFTER they have already enrolled into their business building system. This means that these prospects have already demonstrated that they are serious. This shifts the primary role of the business builder from personal recruiting, promoting, and selling to providing guidance, support, and mentoring. This is a far more satisfying role for the vast majority of network marketers.
Secondly, the prospects that enroll in the system generate income for the network marketer by enrolling in the highly attractive affiliate programs that it incorporates. All of these programs are designed to become quickly profitable. They provide quick financial benefits both to the enrollee and to the network marketer operating the system, whether or not the enrollee decides to join the marketer's primary business opportunity.
The system is specifically designed, however, to guide business opportunity seekers into recognizing the key importance of a primary network marketing business for building long-term residual income. It also guides them into considering the particular primary business of the person whose system they've enrolled in. Once the system has provided comprehensive education about network marketing in general and the importance of a carefully-chosen primary network marketing business in particular, many of them will naturally opt in to the primary business of their sponsor.
So, once again, the business-builder who is utilizing this system waits for these prospects to approach him/her, instead of trying to recruit them actively.
But it gets still better. Not only is this Funded Sponsoring system very attractive to new business opportunity seekers, it has equal or greater appeal to the vast numbers of other network marketers who are struggling and/or failing using the traditional approach.
Further, since it is international in scope, its potential market is absolutely huge.
